For Indigenous, queer, and other marginalized communities

Facing the Storm Together

The storm is not always ours to prevent. When systems, circumstances, or other people set the conditions, what can we still draw on together?

The conversation

What we can work through

Miyo Pimatisiwin asks what living a good life can mean in the life we have. We explore roles, purpose, relationships, community knowledge, and the difference between choices we can make and burdens that should not rest on one person. This is a conversation shaped with the community, not a single answer for every group.

  • Identify strengths and resources already carried by people and community.
  • Make room for grief, limits, support, and possibility at the same time.
  • Consider where agency is available and where collective change is needed.

How it takes shape

Start with your people.

I bring my Métis identity, queer lived experience, and nursing lens. The teachings and activities would be planned with the organizer for the people taking part.

Tell me who is coming, what is happening in your group, and what you hope they will take away. We can decide together whether this is the right starting point.
